Transition (Click map to enlarge)

The transition area will be adjacent to the Byron Surf Life Saving Club. Bike racks will be labeled in age groups, the competitor must ensure they place their bike in the correct racking. Transition opens on Saturday May 7th from 8.00am till 11.00am* (proposed opening hours, subject to change)

  • No competitors will be accepted after 11.00am and we cannot be responsible for you arriving late so please allow for mishaps when making travel arrangements
  • To ensure a smooth transition area 'traffic' will flow in one direction
  • Move quickly to your bike. Clip on your helmet first.
  • If in a team, pass your timing chip to the next team member
  • Move your bike quickly out of the transition area but do not mount before the 'Mount Here' sign on the road
  • Dismount your bike before entering the transition area
  • Return your bike to the rack before unclipping your helmet
  • Be aware of other competitors and their equipment. At no time should you interfere with another competitors bike or other equipment
  • Exit the transition at the run exit - if confused ask a course official
  • Transition will be closed until the last competitor has finished the cycle course. If you wish to get your bike out earlier you will need to apply to QSMSports (email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to be placed on the early exit list. Each early exit will need to be escorted individually by an event marshal to get their bike out without interrupting the competitors still competing. We appreciate your patience while we ensure all competitors have a fair go and are not interrupted within transition whilst still in competition.
